¡á What is a Visa?

A visa is not a permit but a recommendation for the entry to Korea by Korean consul at Services abroad.


¡á D-2(Students) Visa ?

A. The Purpose of Visa issuance
This visa category is designed for students who wish to pursue academic research or study at junior colleges or higher educational institutions or educational/scientific research organizations.

B. Application and Required Documents

(1) Conventional Procedure
A foreigner shall apply for a visa to a Korean Embassy or Consulate service abroad and required documents are ::
¡Û Passport
¡Û Application for VISA
¡Û Other documents
- Standard admission letter for students (to substantiate the educational ability and coverage of the expense of the applicant in Korea, issued by the president or the dean of the University)
- Substantiating documents for researchers (to substantiate for the research activity and the expenses during stay in Korea, reference)

¡Ø If necessary, consuls at Korean Embassy or Consulate service may ask the applicant to submit additional documents.

(2) The Procedures in which a Certificate for Recognition of Visa Issuance is involved
¡Û A Certificate for Recognition of Visa Issuance is issued to a person concerned in Korea(proxy) on the grounds of his application by the chief of a district or branch office.(Ujongbu, Ulsan, Donghae)
¡Û A person concerned in Korea(proxy) sends the issued certificate by the chief of immigration office to the applicant abroad.
¡Û An applicant(foreigner) applies for a visa to the Korean Embassy or Consulate with the above certificate, passport and application form.
¡Û Required documents by a person concerned in Korea(proxy) are the same as those of traditional procedures. If necessary, the chief of a district or branch office may ask a proxy to submit more documents than required.
¡Û Application for Confirmation of VISA Issuance

¡Ø An applicant may ask to issue a certain visa which is not mandated to the chief of a Korean Embassy or Consulate abroad. However, in this case, the chief of a Korean Embassy or Consulate abroad shall get prior approval from the Minister of Justice.

¡á Alien Registration

Those who plan to stay more than 90days, must obtain an 'alien registration card', that can be acquired at the Busan Immigration Office in Chungang-dong
(tel : 055-461-3043).
To apply for 'a, r, c' following items are required : passport, certificate of studentship, three passport size photos and 30,000 Korean won for processing fees.

¡á Re-entry Permit

Registered foreigners who wishes to leave Korea temporarily and re-enter within the authorized period of stay may apply at an immigration office for a re-entry permit before his/her leaves Korea instead of obtaining a new visa from a Korean embassy or consulate service abroad. While a re-entry permit is, in general, valid only once, multiple re-entry permit may be issued to a person who needs to make trips outside Korea frequently

By Cab to Inje University : 15,000won
By Suburban bus to Inje University : bus fare from the airport to Gimhae city hall 1,200won, and
Taxi from City Hall to Inje University approx. 2,500won
